Favorite Eateries

Bonjour readers! Just came up with the idea of reviewing my fave restaurants in Boston. I'll be continually adding to this list and hopefully branch off into other cities as well! All prices, types and locations will be showcased so enjoy :) I hope you visit my favorite restaurants!

L'Espalier (http://www.lespalier.com/)

Ever since Tessa and I came here for Restaurant Week, I have had an intense craving to go back. It's an amazing restaurant overlooking Boylston Street that's based on traditional American cuisine with French roots. The food, service and setting were stellar. And the dessert was unbelievable. Because it was Restaurant Week, the price was super cheap, but if you want to go on a regular day, expect to pay a lot; around $100 for a meal. But trust me, it's so worth it!

Le's Restaurant (http://lescambridge.com/)

An obvious choice; my mom and I LOVE this place. Seriously, its probably my most frequented eatery in Boston. Its Vietnamese with French influence and simply delicious. Every single time I go, my food is amazing, fresh and quick to come out of the kitchen. When you go, order number 36! It's so delicious, and exemplifies Vietnamese food. YUM. Oh, and as an added bonus, Le's is super cheap.

Pinkberry (http://www.pinkberry.com/)

Well all of you know that I have a more-than-slight obsession with Pinkberry. After this opened on Newbury Street, Harvard Square and now the Prudential Center, my life has revolved around it. The new lychee flavor is officially my favorite store-bought dessert. I can't get enough! My favorite combination? Lychee with Strawberries, Mochi and Lime. Perfection.

On Love and Lipstick

Lately I've been having such a strong craving for lipsticks! Every color appeals to me, and there is one new collection that I actually cannot resist: CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine.

It's a new mixture of lip balm and lipstick that feels so moisturizing you feel like you just slathered some Burts Bees everywhere. Heaven. And the colors are stunning too! "Boy," named after Coco Chanel's fling, is my favorite, and the others including Mademoiselle (pictured,) Monte Carlo and Rouge Petale are beautiful too!

Summer Heels

My friends and I are currently in the midst of planning out our summer looks and so I have decided to blog about a topic that provides me great interest: summer heels. ( I need money.. now.)

Summer heels are of utmost importance my dear readers. I've never attempted to wear heels for days on end but this year, I promise myself that I will. Because one of my lifelong goals is to be the type of woman who wears heels all the time no matter how formal or informal a situation is, I need to get started. I bought a pair of beautiful gold leather gladiator heels last summer for prom... but I couldn't wear them because I sprained my ankle. Now, almost a year later, I. Am. Going. To. Enjoy. Them.

My favorite looks right now are the chunky, thick strapped heels, or the sky high wooden clogs. Once you've broken them in and gotten used to the height, the heels will be just fine. Chic Chic Chic!

Remember, beauty is pain.

Amazing Asmara

My group of girlfriends and I went to Asmara to celebrate our dear friend Sarah's birthday on Monday night. It was so delicious!! No one from our group had eaten Ethiopian food before so we were super eager to try it and I am most definitely going back again! So good! The atmosphere, music and food were parfait!

It's located next to the Central Square stop on the Red Line.. please go, its worth the price! It was a bit pricey, $20 each person including tip. Not bad for the amount they gave us! No one could fully finish their meal, the Ingara (sponge-like bread to eat with instead of using utensils) was super heavy after a while. I ordered a lamb dish, yum yum yum.

And because it was Sarah's birthday, they gave her a beautiful slice of chocolate mousse cake on the house! So nice :)

Sarah's Asmara Tea - cinnamon, cloves and various spices.

Table #1's dish - All sorts of different curries!

Table #2's Dsh

Sarah's birthday cake!

And of course, we all went to Harvard Square afterwards to grab some dessert. For the 198737th time, I got my lychee with strawberries, mochi and lime combo at Pinkberry..

.. addicted? I THINK NOT. okay maybe.

En Général.

Yet another sad and depressing post. I keep having these mini panic attacks about the future. What am I going to be doing? So confusing! Although it's nice (and a bit selfish) to know that everyone else is feeling this way too.

It's times like these when I need muh gurls.

Late Night Munchies

Pinkberry is a gift to mankind. Seriously, it makes me get all sparkly inside. And their new flavor, Lychee (btw my fam and I have LOVED lychee for years..hmm..) is a beautiful, beautiful thing. It Changed My Life. Kelly, Dana and I went on Saturday Night and we lost it. Unbelievably delicious.

After getting back to our dorm, Dana and I decided that we needed a late night treat. So we ordered from Teriyaki House, which was AMAZING. Late night food hits the spot!

S & E

One of my besties from home came to visit me this past weekend! Sarah and I had dinner with Dana and her friends from home, we went to Cambridge I on Boylston. It's usually so quiet and has an intimate feel to it, but we went on Opening Day so it was LOUD. So crowded and drunkards everywhere. But we still had fun!

Pizza with potato and fontina cheese, herbs

BFF.

It's so nice to see your friends from home :)

An Unhealthy Obsession

A Classic Equation:  Emily + Kate Spade + Books = True Love

These Kate Spade Book Clutches.. they take my poor breath away. I absolutely adore the Emma and Romeo and Juliet ones, but what I'm most excited for (quite obviously,) is the Pride and Prejudice book clutch and tote. It's coming out in July and I am putting down in writing today, on April 5th, 2011, that I WILL buy the tote bag for next fall.

Newport With My Girlies!

I went to Newport on Saturday with K and S for a class trip! We had a nice lunch, shopped around, and relaxed. (aka sat for 3 hours...) So much fun! Our trip coincided with Newport Restaurant Week (YAY) and so we went to One Bellevue at The Hotel Viking. Delicieuse. And then we shopped, fell into a deep coma and spent the rest of the time at an adorable small-town cafe, Queenie's Bakery.

Moda Operandi

There is so much excitement going on in my head right now! Why? I was accepted into Moda Operandi! It's a new site launched to sell items straight off the runway before they hit the shelves! They make you fill out an application where you are asked who your favorite designers are, what fashion websites you frequent most, what your occupation is and what fashion means to you! (Embarrassingly, I took so long to fill it out..)

After getting accepted, I was referred to their main page, which like Rue La La, have daily retailers who sell their goods. But Moda Operandi doesn't do sales, they use the original prices. GAH! So amazing! Right now they're offering Alexander Wang accessories, Judith Leiber clutches and more! Some of the designers coming up soon are Monique Lhuillier, Rachel Roy, the list goes on and on. Highlights from today's designers:

Judith Leiber "Russian Doll" Clutch $4,995

Judith Leiber "Figure Eight" Clutch $3,295

Anita Ko "Double Headed Bangle" $25,000

Alexander Wang "Brenda Camera Bag" $425

Nicholas Kirkwood "Burgundy Velvet Pumps" $860

Stunning.
